Dr. Jack Mask founded the Mask Chiropractic and Acupuncture Clinic 1969. The practice was initially located at the Professional Building on Johnson Street in Staunton, Virginia, and moved to its present location on North Coalter Street in the early 1970s. The clinic has been a family business from the very beginning - Dr. Mask's children practiced with him for approximately 10 years - and they have always considered their patients to be family as well.

Dr. Mask loved practicing acupuncture and chiropractic medicine, and headed many chiropractic organizations. He achieved a Traditional Chinese Medical degree on his last trip to China, where he became a pioneer for chiropractic.  He studied acupuncture and moxibustion at Shanghai University, and later served as an academic consultant and teacher.  His book, Chiropractic Therapeutics is said to be the first Chinese textbook about chiropractic.  Dr. Mask never saw the finished text; however, he was excited about the role the book would play in the history of chiropractic in China.

On August 22nd, 2005, Dr. Jack Mask - father and founder of the practice - passed away. Dr. Mask's passing was a tremendous loss for his family and practice, but they are proud to continue his tradition of quality chiropractic and acupuncture services. Currently overseeing the clinic are Dr. Andrew Mask and Dr. Leslie Mask Hayes, both of who were born and raised in Staunton, Virginia.
